Kennington Bethlehem lock down

As the Corona Virus crisis deepens around the world, people in both Kennington and Bethlehem, London and Palestine are now living under extreme restrictions of movement.

For Bethlehem, with its already fragile economy, this is particularly worrying.

Anas Abu Srour of Aida Youth Center said, “They closed the streets and all the borders and entrances to Bethlehem. We are isolated now but the good thing is that we don’t have many cases and all of them are young people. Also here everything is closed. No work and the people staying home for the last two weeks. The people here are very vulnerable. I don’t know how they can survive, if this goes on much longer. I am so worried about the situation”

As ever our thoughts and prayers are with our friends in Bethlehem. Our planned fundraisers will now have to be postponed until the situation improves, but we will be back.

We look forward to better times!
