Kennington Bethlehem Link at a Twinning Conference in Nablus

Members of the Kennington Bethlehem spent last weekend in Nablus and Sebastiya in the West Bank at a ‘Friends Gathering’ for twinning groups between the UK and Palestine.

We were joined by representatives of Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, who contributed to discussions on the way forward for twinning groups like our own.

It was informative to meet members of twinning organisations from Dundee, Walsall, Liverpool, Pendle and Hanwell. We learned that Hanwell had recently supplied gas masks to people in Sebastiya to protect them from gas attacks from Israeli troops.

The second day of the conference was held in Sebastiya, where we were given a tour of the Roman ruins that remain in the town.
