This year marks the 73rd anniversary of Al Nakba, the ‘catastrophe’ for Palestinian’s, the war of independence for Israeli’s. In 1948 Zionist military forces cleared 500 Palestinian villages and left 750,000 homeless refugees. Many fled to neighbouring countries and others sought refuge within Palestine, as with the people of the 35 villages who in 1950 created the Aida Refugee Camp. We have formed a partnership with the Aida Youth Centre and send them solidarity greetings at this time. Useful background here Britain in Palestine 1917 – 1948
